SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – American International College (AIC) is expanding its educational offerings with two new online master’s programs.

Registration opens for Spring noncredit classes at HCC, offering personal enrichment and professional development opportunities

The college offers two online Master of Science programs: Population and Community Health Practice and Sport and Human Performance. These programs aim to address rising demands for public health and athletic performance expertise.

The Master of Science in Population and Community Health Practice program equips students to tackle health challenges such as infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and health disparities. Its curriculum emphasizes community-based solutions and focuses on the social and environmental factors affecting health.

Graduates can pursue careers as Public Health Analysts, Community Health Program Managers, Health Policy Advisors, and more. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, roles in these fields are expected to grow by up to 36% by 2033.

Assistant Professor Dayna Campbell highlights the program’s emphasis on community collaboration, saying, “This program represents a shift toward grassroots, community-centered public health solutions. It’s about co-creating sustainable strategies tailored to each community’s unique challenges.”

The Master of Science in Sport and Human Performance program is designed for professionals in the fields of athletic training, sports science, and physical education. The coursework covers performance coaching and scientifically based exercise programming to improve athletic outcomes.

Graduates will be eligible for roles in professional sports organizations, academic institutions, and fitness-related businesses. Additionally, they may sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

“This program offers working professionals the flexibility to advance their education while meeting growing market demands,” said Susan Lachowski, executive director of Health and Human Performance.

For hands-on experience, students can participate in an optional one-week residency at AIC’s campus. The residency includes advanced training with metabolic and body composition tools, coaching techniques, and specialized certifications, providing a competitive edge in the field.

Applications for both programs are being accepted. To learn more, contact AIC Graduate Admissions at (413) 205-3700 or [email protected].
